match report

Gorey under 19's got there season off to a good start with an 42 17 away victory over a young Greystones side in their first outing of the year.

The bigger Gorey pack lay the foundations from the beginning to storm into a 14 0 lead with 2 tries from second row Niall Cousins . Two more tries from Tommy O Reilly saw Gorey race into a commanding lead,. The lighter Greystones pack struggled to come to terms with their Gorey counterparts and Gorey struck again when some excellent work and quick handling through the backs saw winger Michael Fanning cross for try number five. Gorey seemed to go asleep after this and Greystones came more into the game but could not cross the Gorey line with halftime approaching. The second half continued as the first ended with Greystones finally scoring not one but three tries . Gorey steadied the ship and tries from William O Morchoe OReilly and Killian Breen wrapped up a good opener for Gorey.

Gorey begin their South East campaign with an away fixture to Enniscorthy next saturday. Meanwhile trainning continues every wensday and friday nights at 7.30 and all new and former players are welcome.

Well it was a good start to the season..greystones were much smaller than us all over the field and with the offloading after every line break we ran in trys from everywhere when we got playing... overall very pleased with it just need to learn how to keep the team on the ropes for the full 80 mins ..

tommy Oreilly nabbed himself a hattrick...I got one right at the end..we will be competing for most trys until the christmas break..loser has to do a forefeit...any suggestions?

Update

Well this update is long due .. I have been back in school though sadly and between that and schools rugby I have found time to be very difficult to aquire.

The team has gotton back together and we are training with the first team on wednesday and friday nights every night running 3km as a warm up then htting some ball working drills and offensive positioning. we consistently get 20 players up to train at least and by the looks of it our team should be absolutely huge in the forwards and in the backs...with 5 players having either trained or played with provincial teams and many more who played with the south east the team is going to be fairly talented
